Hosted on 11-12 June 2024, in Antwerp, Belgium, under the auspices of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU, the eu-LISA Industry Roundtable titled ‘Going to the Cloud Why it matters for the EU public sector and how to make it work’, focused on the growing importance of cloud technologies in transforming public sector operations.

This comprehensive document provides an overview of the concerted efforts undertaken by the JHA agencies in response to the conflict in Ukraine. It encompasses a wide array of actions, including both individual initiatives tailored to each agency and collaborative endeavours across agencies. These agencies play a crucial role in implementing EU-level political decisions, aiding Member States and third countries, and

eu-LISA aims to reduce its carbon footprint to become carbon neutral by 2030. To achieve its ambitious goal, the Agency’s top management decided to use the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) regulation to create a sustainability strategy. This strategy was developed by performing a risk and opportunity analysis, in order to identify environmental risks and to assess environmental regulatory requirements

2023 was a pivotal year for eu-LISA – a period of strategic recalibration to ensure the delivery of the world's most advanced border management system for the Schengen community. Under new and proactive leadership, we realigned our strategic approach and introduced new ways of working. As a result, we managed to jumpstart stalled initiatives and steer our organisation back on

Throughout 2023, eu-LISA continued its efforts to contribute to a fully functioning and resilient Schengen area for the benefit of European citizens. Since all JHA systems managed by the Agency support the implementation of EU policies in the areas of border management, visas, migration and asylum, digitalisation, and contribute to combating organised crime and terrorism, their continued evolution and maintenance

This report captures the JHAAN’s activities in 2023, the progress made, and common milestones achieved. It underlines the steady commitment of the JHA family to upholding the fundamental rights, freedoms, justice and security of all individuals within the European Union.
