May I submit a spontaneous application?
eu-LISA does not accept any spontaneous applications.

I am a national from a country that is not an EU Member State. Can I apply for a position advertised by eu-LISA?
Vacancies at eu-LISA are only open to nationals of EU Members States and Schengen Associated Countries. A valid residence permit is not considered proof of citizenship.

Is there an age limit on applying?
There is no age limit, however the current mandatory retirement age is 66.
Can I apply if I don't meet all the eligibility conditions?
Please apply only if you meet all the general and specific eligibility requirements, as applications that do not meet these criteria cannot be considered.
We suggest you to carefully read the vacancy notice before applying.
Can I apply if I do not have the required years of experience?
Please note that if your application does not meet the required years of experience, it will be excluded during the initial stage of the selection process.
Only the information provided in the application form will be considered when assessing your professional experience.
I was working while I did my bachelor, how is this considered?
In case you are applying to a position that requires bachelor’s degree as minimum educational level on eligibility, then only the work experience gained after you obtained the degree will be considered. Any experience acquired during your studies will not be taken into account.
My degree/ diploma will not be awarded until after the closing date for applications. Can I still apply?
To be eligible, you must have obtained the required qualifications listed in the vacancy notice by the application deadline. Any qualifications obtained after that date will not be considered.
Do you accept qualifications/ diplomas issued in non-EU countries?
For diplomas awarded in non-EU countries, a NARIC recognition is required.
If you have a diploma recognised in an EU Member State, you do not need NARIC recognition for your lower-level diploma(s).
Example: If you have a Bachelor’s degree from a university outside the EU, and a Master’s degree from an EU university, you do not need ENIC-NARIC recognition for the Bachelor’s degree.
Qualifications/ diplomas awarded until 31/12/2020 in the United Kingdom are accepted without further recognition. For diplomas awarded after this date (from 01/01/2021), a NARIC recognition is required.
I have a disability or medical condition that requires adjustments to the selection tests. What do I have to do?
If you are invited to the written test or interview phase and require any reasonable accommodation due to a physical, mental, intellectual or sensory disability, or a health condition, please inform us in advance. You may be asked to provide supporting documentation (for example, a medical certificate).
We will make every effort to provide the necessary accommodations and to ensure your full and equal participation in the selection process.
How can I get more information about the written test and/ or interview?
The vacancy notice lists the areas of professional knowledge and competencies that will be covered during the written test and interview phase.
Can I still apply if I have missed the deadline?
No, this is not possible. To ensure equal treatment for all candidates, no exceptions can be made.
Your application must be fully completed and submitted before the deadline stated in the vacancy notice.
We strongly recommend submitting your application well before the deadline to avoid any last-minute technical issues.
I have applied to a selection procedure, when will I be notified of the outcome of my application?
We notify all applicants about their outcome in the end of every selection process step (such as CV screening, preliminary assessment, written test, interview).
The full process may take between 3 to 5 months, depending on the number of applications received.
Will I receive feedback after each stage of the process?
We will keep you informed after each stage to let you know whether you are moving forward in the process. Please read more about the Steps of the Selection Process.
Does passing the test(s) and interview(s) guarantee employment?
Candidates who succeed in the selection procedures are placed on a reserve list. However, being placed on a reserve list does not guarantee employment with eu-LISA. Please read more under Reserve List.
Is relocation mandatory if I get offered a position?
Candidates are required to relocate to their place of employment. We offer comprehensive relocation services designed to make your transition as smooth as possible. Please read more under Support Services.
