eu-LISA only operates the IT infrastructure that hosts these systems, but it has does not handle the data stored within them. The data itself is created, owned, and managed exclusively by the national authorities (police/ law enforcement, immigration services, border guards, etc.) of EU and Schengen Member States.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, you must contact the competent national authority of the country that entered the record, or your national data protection authority. eu-LISA cannot intervene in or expedite these processes. Please refer to the lists of national competent authorities for contact details.

Depending on your situation, the answer may be ‘yes’. The EU has introduced two new systems for non-EU/ non-Schengen travellers visiting the EU/ Schengen Area:

Note: you do not need to inform eu-LISA about your upcoming travel plans.

eu-LISA manages the technical development of ETIAS but is not involved in the application process. For the latest information on how to apply for an ETIAS, please visit the official website at travel-europe.europa.eu/etias.

For data held in the large-scale IT systems (SIS, VIS, Eurodac, EES, etc.), the relevant data controllers are the Member States that entered the data. Requests should be directed to those national authorities or to EU’s supervisory authority, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS).

eu-LISA's Data Protection Officer can be contacted for questions about data processed by eu-LISA as an institution (e.g. HR recruitment data, website contact data, etc.).

There are two types of positions you may encounter at eu-LISA:

1. Staff
   Recruitment for eu-LISA full-time staff positions is handled exclusively through the Agency’s online e-Recruitment platform and does not involve any third party recruiters.
2. Interim workers
   For recruiting interim workers, eu-LISA works with temporary work agencies who may conduct their own recruitment for positions based at or in support of the Agency. If you are approached by a recruiter, you should verify their legitimacy independently before sharing any personal information – check that the recruiting company has a verifiable professional presence, that the role is advertised on their own official channels, and that they are not requesting fees or sensitive documents at an early stage.
   Some positions may require an EU security clearance (sometimes referred to as a PSC). This requirement will be listed in the job description, if applicable. The temporary work agencies the Agency works with are expected to handle formalities in such cases. Before submitting any personal documents, please familiarise yourself with what the process entails, by checking with your national government authorities in your country of citizenship.

The selection procedure for traineeship positions (internships) at eu-LISA are organised on a recurring annual basis, and are typically launched in the second quarter of each year.

Statistical reports concerning the large-scale IT systems eu-LISA operates are published in our Publications page and are also available in our Public Register. If a report for a given year has not yet appeared, it is still in preparation.

eu-LISA only publishes the statistical data sets mandated by the EU regulations and provided by the Member States.

Technical documentation for national implementation teams is distributed through designated national contact points and programme offices. If you are involved in an implementation involving an eu-LISA system, please reach out through your country's official programme liaison.

eu-LISA procures all goods and services through EU public procurement procedures, in line with EU legislation. Opportunities are published on the EU's official procurement platform, TED (Tenders Electronic Daily), and linked from our Procurement page.

If you wish to be considered as a supplier, please monitor our website and/ or social media channels and/ or TED for relevant calls for tender and respond through the official procedure when a suitable opportunity arises. eu-LISA is not able to assess unsolicited proposals or to arrange meetings outside of a formal procurement process.
