On 21 November, eu-LISA was honoured to host a high-level visit from the French Ministry of the Interior at its operational site in Strasbourg.
Discussions focused on eu-LISA's mission and the added value the Agency brings to the security of the Union and its citizens, while allowing them to enjoy openness and freedom of movement. The French delegation received a comprehensive update on the current and future large-scale IT systems for EU Justice and Home Affairs and was given a tour of the site from which eu-LISA operates the IT systems.
The Agency's Executive Director,
Agnès Diallo, said: "I am very pleased to welcome a delegation of French Prefects to our site. This visit is a clear demonstration of the importance of eu-LISA's work. We attach great importance to constructive and cooperative relations with all EU Member States, because only by acting together can we ensure a safer Europe for our citizens. eu-LISA has developed and manages large-scale IT systems designed to make the tasks of Member States' law enforcement authorities easier and more efficient, and we are honoured to contribute to this effort".
