In May 2025, eu-LISA’s Liaison Office in Brussels relocated to new premises on Avenue de Cortenbergh. The move enhances the Agency’s capacity to maintain close working relations with institutional stakeholders and continue supporting EU policy implementation in the area of freedom, security and justice.

The relocation was marked by a brief inauguration event attended by key institutional partners and led by the Agency’s Executive Director ad interim, Ms Marili Männik. The event served to reaffirm eu-LISA’s continued commitment to effective cooperation with EU institutions and agencies.

Situated in close proximity to the European Commission, the Council of the EU, and other key bodies, the new location strengthens the Agency’s ability to contribute to EU-level discussions and policy developments relevant to its operational mandate.

eu-LISA’s Presence Across the EU

eu-LISA operates from three locations within the European Union:

  • Tallinn, Estonia – The Agency’s Headquarters is located in Tallinn and is responsible for overall governance, administration, strategic planning, and central support functions.
  • Strasbourg, France – The Operational Site in Strasbourg is the technical centre of eu-LISA. It hosts the infrastructure and operational management of the large-scale IT systems under the Agency’s responsibility, including SIS, VIS, Eurodac, and the future EES and ETIAS systems, as well as interoperability components.
  • Brussels, Belgium – The Liaison Office serves as a contact point for interactions with EU institutions and agencies.

With this relocation, eu-LISA continues to ensure that its organisational presence is well aligned with its operational and strategic objectives across its three sites.
