Register Now for the eu-LISA Industry Roundtable June 2022

On 16 June 2022, the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) will host its 15^th Industry Roundtable – Biometric Technologies in Identity Management and Verification.

Organised in a hybrid format in cooperation with the French Presidency of the Council of the EU, the event will focus on technologies addressing capability gaps in identity verification at external border crossing points (in particular land and sea), and technologies and approaches supporting the implementation of effective identity management processes.

The first part of the Industry Roundtable will focus on the relevant business processes, technologies and equipment that facilitate processing of third country nationals crossing Schengen borders in the most efficient and effective way possible. In particular, industry presentations will focus on recent developments in biometric recognition devices that may be used in sub-optimal conditions (weather, lighting, movement) for passengers arriving at sea ports (including small ones), in private vehicles and lorries, as well as on moving trains. Industry presentations may address the challenges faced through both technological and process means.

The second part will focus on identity management as a service. Specifically, the following areas will be addressed: biometrics-based identity management; system interoperability in identity management; big data management and data management strategies in the context of identity management. Furthermore, this part of the roundtable may include presentations of novel approaches in identity management, including self-sovereign and decentralised identity.

The eu-LISA Industry Roundtable aims to bring together representatives of the industry, Member States' authorities and EU institutions; providing a forum for eu-LISA stakeholders to exchange views on developments of different technologies. Participants are expected to present and discuss industry solutions and business processes addressing the specific challenges and capability gaps in identity management and verification.
