As the EU budget is comprised of taxpayers’ contributions, it is imperative that eu-LISA ensures its use is economical, effective and efficient exclusively allocated to authorised programmes and activities, in strict compliance with all applicable laws. Fraud affecting EU funds undermines the integrity and credibility of EU institutions, agencies and bodies including eu-LISA itself. To combat fraud effectively, the European Commission updates regularly its Anti-fraud Strategy (AFS), objectives and action plan.
