eu-LISA has recorded one of its strongest internship calls to date, receiving more than 1 000 applications for its 2025 intake. Following the selection process, 20 interns joined eu-LISA in October, taking up placements across the Agency’s sites in Tallinn, Strasbourg and Brussels.
The increased interest reflects a growing awareness of eu-LISA’s work in managing the EU’s large-scale IT systems in the area of freedom, security and justice, as well as broader engagement efforts aimed at reaching diverse academic and technical communities.
Strong Applicant Response Across Profiles
This year’s internship call received 1 095 applications, covering:
691 applications for the corporate profile,
240 for the IT profile,
164 for the Women in IT profile.
Notable interest came from underrepresented Member States, including Finland, Sweden and Cyprus. Applicants also represented a wide range of educational backgrounds, from law and communications to engineering, automation, statistics and other technical fields.
Women in IT Campaign Gains Momentum
A dedicated Women in IT strand within the internship call generated significant engagement. The initiative aimed to encourage more women to explore careers in digital and technical domains and contributed to a measurable rise in applications from female candidates across various ICT disciplines. Supporting diversity and widening participation in technology remains a priority for eu-LISA.
A New Cohort Joins the Agency
As a result of the selection process, 20 new interns have now joined eu-LISA, strengthening teams across operational, technical and corporate areas:
8 in Tallinn,
11 in Strasbourg,
1 in the Brussels Liaison Office.
They will contribute to ongoing projects, support day-to-day activities and gain first-hand experience of the Agency’s work, bringing fresh perspectives to eu-LISA’s mission.
eu-LISA looks forward to supporting the cohort throughout their internship and to following their progress as part of the Agency’s community.
