On the 29th of September, eu-LISA was invited to a "breaking of the ground" ceremony on the site of our soon to be new headquarters. Both the Estonian Minister of the Interior, Andres Anvelt, and Raimond Kaljulaid, the head of North Tallinn district, attended the ceremony. To mark the occasion, a time capsule was buried on site. "I thank the Estonian Government for its support and the Ministry of the Interior for the excellent cooperation received since 2012 when eu-LISA started to work in Tallinn. I also thank the Estonian Real Estate Agency for their efficiency. Placing the cornerstone of eu-LISA's new headquarters today is much more than just a symbolic confirmation. It means that the new home for the Agency will indeed become a reality and will provide our staff with a modern working environment to successfully perform our tasks as required by the continually progressing digital era.” said the eu-LISA Executive Director, Krum Garkov.
