The Chair of the Management Board
Zsolt Szolnoki:
"It is a great personal honour for me to greet the 10th anniversary of the Agency as the Chairman of the Board. I have been very fortunate to be able to follow the evolution of the Agency from a small organisation to a mid-size EU Agency. Today, eu-LISA plays an excellent and crucial role as the digital border guard of Schengen while managing one of the largest and most complex interoperability programmes of the EU. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the Agency over the past 10 years, for their work. Especially the Executive Director Krum Garkov who has been building this Agency from the very beginning and will hand over a strong and valuable organisation later this year."
The Executive Director of eu-LISA
Krum Garkov:
"The story of eu-LISA so far in many respects is a story about turning the digital technologies from a commodity into political priority and turning them into service of the European citizens. Our organisation, our services, our people have tremendously matured through those ten years. Today, we are stronger, more competent and more resilient than ever before. But this is not the end of the journey for the Agency and I am convinced that in the years to come eu-LISA will continue to grow and reinvent itself. I have no doubts that eu-LISA will continue to be on the forefront of digital transformation in the EU and will continuously extend its contribution to the efforts of the Member States to keep Europe open, strong and secure."
