On
23-24 November 2023, the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) will organise the next edition of the
Industry Roundtable.
The event will take place in a hybrid format: in person in
Madrid, Spain with a possibility to join online.
The importance of advancing the modernisation of justice to ensure its effective and efficient functioning within Member States but also at European level has been widely acknowledged, with digitalisation as one of its main cornerstones. Over the past 20 years, the European Commission together with Member States and other key stakeholders operating in the justice domain, have already made significant strides towards the development of e-Justice on both legislative and operational levels. A substantial part of these efforts focused on using information and communication technologies to promote cooperation of judicial authorities across the EU.
Since 2010, the development of electronic tools for e-Justice has been on a steady upward trajectory. Today, these tools ensure for example, secure digital communication in the context of judicial cooperation procedures and provide easy access for citizens and businesses to legal information and national registers, and much more.
Given the Agency's increasingly important role in the European justice community, this edition of the Industry Roundtable will focus on the challenges specific to the area of justice. We hope that this event will help eu-LISA to develop a stronger connection with and better understand the needs of the justice community. In addition, it will help establish a better connection with industry players providing solutions targeted at professionals and authorities operating in the justice domain.
Commercial vendors
are invited to submit proposals for presentations at the Industry Roundtable event in one of the following areas:
- Solutions for
document processing and
exchange between the judiciary and law enforcement bodies
- Solutions for
secure digital presence

Artificial Intelligence and other innovative solutions

Timeline
- The Call for Expression of Interest will be published on
7 September 2023.
- The Call for Expression of Interest will be open until
12 October 2023.
- eu-LISA will review the proposals and inform the selected speakers by
27 October 2023.
- The final programme will be made available on
6 November 2023.
- The Industry Roundtable will take place face to face in Madrid on
23-24 November 2023 (with the possibility to join online).
