    The Schengen Information System (SIS II) is a large-scale IT system that supports public security, border control and law enforcement cooperation in Europe. The agency runs SIS II and keeps it operational 24/7, allowing national authorities to constantly exchange and share information.

  • Eurodac and eu-LISA: helping to manage asylum applications

    Eurodac is a centralised EU database that collects and processes the digitalised fingerprints of asylum seekers. Set up in 2003, it is currently used by all EU-28 countries as well as Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. eu-LISA keeps Eurodac fully operational and in service 24/7, allowing national authorities to constantly exchange and share information.
