eu-LISA Management Board held in Madrid

The eu-LISA Management Board met on 15 and 16 November in El Pardo, Madrid under the auspices of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

During the two-day meeting, the Management Board, the highest governing body of eu-LISA, discussed the state of play of the Interoperability Programme, for which a revised roadmap was endorsed by the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council on 19 October. The Management Board also discussed progress in the implementation of the Entry/Exit System (EES), the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) and the European Criminal Records Information System - Third Country National (ECRIS-TCN) large-scale IT systems.

In addition, an overview was given on the functioning of other systems under eu-LISA management: the Schengen Information System (SIS), the Visa Information System (VIS) and the European Asylum Dactyloscopy Database (Eurodac) and on the state of play with regard to ongoing developments.

The Management Board was also informed about the status of the e-CODEX platform and the Joint Investigation Teams Collaboration Platform (JIT CP) project, which have been added to the Agency's portfolio this year.

The participants, composed of representatives from EU Member States, Schengen Associated Countries, the European Commission and EU Agencies, also took note of the reports on Internal Audit, Security and Data Protection provided by the Agency.

The Management Board also discussed the Agency's Single Programming Documents for the periods 2023-2025 and 2024-2026, as well as a draft plan for the period 2025-2027.

The next Management Board meeting will be held online on 31 January 2024. Summaries of the regular eu-LISA Management Board meetings are published on the Agency's website.
