On 27 November eu-LISA staff visited the International
Relations Society (IRS), hosted by the Tallinn University. The IRS is an
organisation comprised of students, lecturers and members of the community,
having a vetted interest in international relations, international security and
international affairs.

introduced to the audience its overall structure and governance, as well as the
main legal provisions in asylum law governing the functioning of Eurodac, the
main tool allowing national authorities to determine the Member States
responsible for examining an asylum application. Participants were also
introduced to the security matters pertaining to the functioning of the Eurodac
system, as well as the main data protection caveats.
