On Thursday 10 December eu-LISA
received a visit from a group of 28 students enrolled in the Frontex-coordinated
European Joint Master in Strategic Border Management, accompanied by the vice-rector
of the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and professors from the Romanian
Police Academy / Romanian Border Police. In the framework of a study
module on Innovation and Technology in Border Security, the students were given
a presentation of eu-LISA’s core tasks and mandate as well as a high-level
view of the systems operated by the Agency and their role in the implementation
of the Integrated Border Management concept.
The Frontex Joint Master’s programme aims to promote interoperability and
the highest standards at EU borders, while protecting and promoting fundamental
rights in border management. It empowers European border guard managers to rely
on and apply professional judgment by developing the skills acquired through
problem-solving in a professional context.
