eu-LISA is holding the chairmanship
of the network of EU Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) Agencies in 2015, aiming to
further enhance information exchange and practical cooperation among the nine
JHA Agencies in areas of their mandate. The network is composed of EU Agencies
such as CEPOL, EASO, EIGE, EMCDDA, Europol, Eurojust, FRA, Frontex and eu-LISA
as well as the European Commission and the European External Action Service.
The Agencies are in charge of the coordination of a wide range of security and
judicial matters in the EU ranging from cooperation in police, border control,
asylum, judicial and drug related matters to fundamental rights, gender
equality, provision of training for police authorities and operational
management of IT systems. In 2015 the network is going to focus its work on
pre-agreed priority areas, i.e. awareness raising on and wider sharing of
existing analysis and reports, identifying synergies in the provision of
training to law enforcement authorities, determining the needs for cooperation
in IT services and solutions and
enhancing the visibility of JHA Agencies at national and EU level through
various communication activities. The first meeting of the network is going to
take place at eu-LISA’s headquarters in Tallinn on 4 March, to be followed up
by meetings in Tallinn as well as at eu-LISA’s operations site in Strasbourg
later in the year.
