Together we are stronger and greater: Heads of Communication from EU JHAAN Convened at eu-LISA

The Heads of Communication from the EU Justice and Home Affairs Agencies Network gathered on June 13 for their annual meeting at eu-LISA headquarters in Tallinn. The hybrid event brought together both in-person and online participants from the 9 agencies of the network, and DG HOME, to discuss the ongoing implementation of the 2024 communication plan, share experiences and shape future joint actions.

eu-LISA’s interim Deputy Director, Luca Zampaglione, welcomed the attendees and expressed optimism for a successful and productive meeting.

As the holder of the 2024 presidency of the JHAAN, eu-LISA has been emphasising the importance of strategic communication to highlight priorities and to foster collaboration to enhance visibility and the impact of joint communication actions. These principles have been the backbone of the 2024 joint communication plan, lead by the eu-LISA Communication Sector, and appreciated by colleagues from across the network.

All sessions of the meeting were marked by an exchange of best practices and innovative solutions aimed at improving communication about the network’s operational work and core values. Highlights included a series of presentations on modern corporate communication requirements, such as the accessibility of online communication, an element that is crucial in today’s digital landscape.

One of the notable presentations was delivered by Dr Albu, from the Copenhagen Business School, who provided valuable insight into contemporary visibility strategies and challenges, network personality notions and best practices to increase visibility.

The meeting concluded with a site visit to the e-Estonia Briefing Centre, offering participants a first-hand look at Estonia’s pioneering digital initiatives.

This meeting underscored the commitment of the EU Justice and Home Affairs Agencies to enhance communication efforts, ensuring that their work and values are effectively conveyed to the public.
