The European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) will be hosting the next edition of the Industry Roundtable, taking place on 12-13 November 2024.
In partnership with the
Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the event will be held in Budapest, Hungary; participants will have the opportunity to attend in person or join online.
Theme:
The upcoming eu-LISA Industry Roundtable is titled "EU Justice and Home Affairs in the Age of AI: fostering innovations and managing risks". This event will be dedicated to examining the latest advancements in AI, assessing the diverse opportunities they present, and addressing the inherent risks and operational challenges that authorities encounter in the Justice and Home Affairs sector.
Purpose:
This roundtable will provide a forum for industry leaders, representatives of Member States' authorities, and EU institutions to discuss the potential of addressing operational challenges with AI-driven solutions while navigating the legal constraints introduced by the EU's Artificial Intelligence Act, and challenges related to the protection of fundamental rights.
Opportunity for Participation:
Companies and organisations are invited to express their interest to present AI solutions that address the specific needs of authorities operating in the justice and home affairs domain. Submissions should align with the themes of the roundtable, including but not limited to generative AI, AI in biometric recognition, knowledge management, fraud detection, and ensuring regulatory compliance (for more information see the full text of the call).
How to Apply:
Interested companies and organisations should submit their proposals by completing the application form linked below. The deadline for submissions is
27 September 2024. All proposals will be subjected to an internal evaluation by a panel of experts, and selected companies will be notified by 11 October 2024.
